Introduction to the WPI Fellowship Application process

Applications for the 2012 fellowship will no longer be accepted. Please check the Web site in December for information about the 2013 fellowship.



Here is what you will need to complete the application:

Work Samples —
Upload work samples where possible. You are required to provide three (3) samples of your work. (See the "Apply" page for guidelines, including allowable file formats and where to mail materials if you are unable to upload your samples.)

Photo —
You will need a digitized, color photo of yourself (head and shoulders only against a plain background) that is high enough in resolution to be printed at least 200 dots per inch at a size of approximately 2.5 inches (6 centimeters) in height. The file should be in JPG/JPEG or GIF format.

References —
You will need to provide the names and accurate E-Mail addresses of three references. WPI will contact them by E-mail with information on how they can submit online letters of recommendation. If the E-mail addresses are not accurate, these instructions will not be received and your application will not be evaluated. Please note that letters of recommendation must be submitted by the application deadline.

Username and password —
You will need a username and password to complete your application. If you are coming to this page for the first time, click the "Create new account" link in the left hand column. A form will appear on the screen. Complete the form and submit it by clicking on the "Create new account" button. Be sure to check the "applicant" button when you complete the form.



Once you have your user name and password...

1) (If you are not already logged in) Sign in using the form in the left column of this page.

2) Once you are logged in, click on the "Create content" link in the left column.

3) To start your application the first time, click on the "2012 Application" link to go to the application screen.

4) Complete the application, including submitting a digitized version of your photo and work samples, along with the names and E-mail addresses of three references. (You should contact your references in advance verify you have their correct E-mail address and to alert them that they will be receiving information from "apply@worldpressinstitute.org" on how to submit their references online.)

Note that you must save any content you enter before you leave the application page (by clicking the "Save" button at the bottom of the application form) or it will be lost.

This is a lengthy application form. So, we expect you will have to return more than once to complete it. Do not start a new application form each time you want to add to it.

After you have saved your application the first time, you will see a link to it in the left hand column under "Link to your application form." Use that link when you come back to make any changes. (You'll need to log in first; no link will appear until you log in.)

You can return as many times as you like prior to the application deadline. You can save partially completed applications and come back to the page later. If you are not finished with your application, be sure to indicate that you are still working on your application before you save it. (There is a button for that at the end of the application form.)

Once you mark your application "Complete" and save it, we will receive your information, and your references will be sent instructions on how to complete their reference forms. Make sure the information on your references (names and E-mail addresses) is correct before you do this. There is no "submit" button; just mark it complete and save it when you are done.

Due to the large number of applicants, you will not receive confirmation that your references have been completed. It is your responsibility to make sure they are submitted before the application deadline.

Application information you submit is confidential. Other applicants or references will not be able to view it.
