Ground Zero: One of the twin towers stood here     Twin towers once stood on this site A symbol of America’s financial might But on September 11th 2001 The world woke up to disturbing news The World Trade Centre was no more It was a smouldering pile of concrete and metal With thousands buried underneath the rubble A new type of terrorism had emerged A cruelty that changed the world forever   Ground Zero All that is left are two gaping holes Where the splendour of New York once stood With names of all the innocent lives lost Inscribed in the metal boundaries   Americans are like termites When you destroy their mound They always rebuild it But what happened here Will never be forgotten
