perfect day

perfect day

Today was a beautiful day that cheered me up a lot. It was the best time to go to Nationalization Ceremony in S.-Paul, MN right after a great speech of Mr. Steve Oesterle, in Medtronic headquarter in Minneapolis, where I was paralyzed and simultaneously delighted by technical and scientific achievements of Medtronic and personally by Mr. Oesterle.

The animals in my neighborhood

The animals in my neighborhood
You might say that animals such as squirrels and rabbits are residents' neighbors or parts of people's life in University of St. Thomas. However, as a newcomer who has just stayed in St. Paul for a week, I can't help stopping to watch or have a photo shoot again and again when the animals bump into my sight.       When I was a child in my hometown, Yunnan province, I could see squirrels climbing trees on the hills near my house. The animals have just gone in the past 20 years.

Eating healthy, tasty and ethical food - How to do it in America?

It started at Minneapolis airport when I bought a yogurt and did not read the list of ingredients. The Battle of Finding Tasty, Healthy and Ethical Food from USA. I lost the first round but luckily the journey was only beginning.

When I got to my residence at St. Thomas University, I tasted the yogurt. It looked slimy and tasted weird. At this point I looked at the ingredients list. Yuck! What was the gelatin and three corn based food additives doing in my yogurt? I threw the jar to the trash.
