The conference explored journalism in the Internet Age, from podcasting to combating disinformation to exploring new business models for journalism with presentations like How Podcasts are Transforming Journalism: The Story of the Bulgarian Crypto-Queen, Journalists and Journalism Under Threat, and New Business Models and Alternative Revenue Streams for Journalism.
A number of WPI alumni wspoke at the conference, including head of the Investigations Department at Germany’s Norddeutscher Rundfunk, Britta von der Heide (2017); correspondent for Bulgaria’s Capital Weekly and Dnevnik.bg Spas Spasov (2013); and South African-based freelance journalist and media trainer Camilla Bath (2014).
