Jerry K. Fisher headed the Hubbard Broadcasting Group’s operations in Asia for two decades. Before joining the Hubbard Fisher pursued an academic and journalistic career focusing on Asian intellectual history and contemporary US-Japanese social, political and economic relations. Fisher holds the titles of Professor of History and Professor of Humanities and Cultural Studies at Macalester College in St. Paul Minnesota, and has taught at Waseda University and International Christian University in Tokyo. He has over 50 Japanese language publications and has written frequently for Japanese journals such as Shukan Economist and the now defunct Asahi Journal.

Fisher served as historian, commentator and member of the production team for the television documentary, The Other Dr. Clark, that won awards in Japan as the top documentary film in 1992. Fisher graduated with honors from Macalester College in 1959 and received a Ph.D. in Asian History from Virginia University and a Masters of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary, New York.
